Holiday Gathers of Good People.

You have heard it before, sometimes “bad things happen to good people”.  Good people are all around this holiday season.  We hope that you and yours are having the best holiday of a lifetime.  No one wants to even think about the spiral of events that would occur of one of the good people in your family were accused of a crime.

Not to alarm you, but so many things can go wrong, such as an OVI charge in Ohio.  Maybe you or someone you love gets arrested for holding illegal narcotics.  You could even be in the wrong place at the wrong time during a homicide or a robbery.  Maybe your record is spotless, but now you are the prime suspect and you need aggressive defense.

Northeast Ohio criminal defense attorney Jon Sinn has spent the last two plus decades navigating the justice system of the Buckeye State.  If something happens to one of the “good people” that you know in Portage or Summit County, Ohio, Jon Sinn will be there to represent them.  In 2017 the only sin is NOT calling Jon…Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Marijuana and The Election.

We are all looking at the 2016 election as one of the most impactful of all time.  Besides the obvious, the decisions that were made about the future of marijuana use in this country were ground-breaking.  Some states legalized its recreational use while others made it available with a doctor’s note.  Whatever the case we are getting closer and closer to the legalization of this controversial drug.

Marijuana has different effects on individuals.  Some people may lose their focus and others report a heightened awareness of their senses.  Did you know that there are more than 400 chemicals in the average marijuana plant?  When it is smoked the heat from that procedure produces even more of them!  This is not meant to scare you, but to remind you that Ohio has not made marijuana use legal…yet.

In changing times such as these it is comforting to know that if you are busted for pot there is a lawyer in Northeast Ohio that will fight for you.  Attorney Jon Sinn is a proud member of the National Association for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.  Do not take a marijuana arrest lightly.  The only sin would be NOT to call John…Ohio weed attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Using a Handgun in Self-Defense.

What happens when you are arrested for using a handgun?  IF the gun was used in a measure of self-defense the police will probably still confiscate the weapon.  They may also put you in handcuffs and haul you off to the police station.  Even when the shooting takes place late at night in your own home this is likely to occur!

The next thing that the cops will do is take your gun to ballistics to test if your bullets match those that are in the home invader that you shot.  From this point, you hope that the handgun will be returned to you when it is fully determined that this was an act of pure self-defense.  Unfortunately, it does not always go so smoothly.

If you are involved in protecting yourself and/or your property and have shot someone with a legal handgun that you own take swift action.  Call Ohio handgun defense attorney Jon Sinn.  Attorney Sinn knows that good people may sometimes be treated as if they were criminals.  He will fight for your rights in Northeast, Ohio.  The only sin is to not call Jon.  Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

What is a Real Traffic Attorney?

A great traffic attorney goes well beyond traffic tickets and slowing down at school crossings.  There are some truly major consequences that require a well-versed traffic lawyer.  What if you or a loved one are ticketed for driving on a suspended license?  In the state of Ohio that is a first degree misdemeanor.  And if you are convicted you could spend the next six months in jail!

In another case you are driving safely, but you run a stop light and you plow into another vehicle.  Some may dismiss this incident as minor if no one was seriously hurt.  Just as you became complacent the other driver begins complaining of aches and pains resulting from the crash.  Now you have insurance bulldogs and personal injury attorneys calling you constantly.

You need to contact a professional Akron traffic attorney immediately.  The situation will only escalate and you need aggressive representation.  Attorney Jon Sinn can keep that minor fender bender from becoming a huge injury lawsuit.  He has been fighting for the rights of those accused of auto accidents in Northeast Ohio for many years.  The only sin is not calling Jon.  Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Ohio Weed Attorney.

Sorry, this is not Washington or Colorado.  Someday sooner or later the recreational use and purchase of marijuana will be legal in the state of Ohio.  Don’t take it for granted just yet.  It may seem minor, but don’t tell that to the court system in the Buckeye state!  It is hard to believe, but the recreational use of weed is treated the same way as hard drugs.

When your driver’s license or perhaps a student loan is at stake you better believe this is no laughing matter.  Isn’t it amazing that something that probably will soon be perfectly legal is treated so harshly?  As the law stands in 2016 you should A.) watch what you are doing and, B.) expect dire consequences if you screw up.

If things happen that cause you to be busted for recreational marijuana use you need aggressive representation.  Attorney Jon Sinn is a member of the National Association for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.  He is a northeast Ohio weed defense attorney who fights for your rights when you get busted.  The only sin here is not calling Jon.  Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Choosing the Right Criminal Attorney.

What are you looking for in a Northeast Ohio criminal attorney?  Well, it would certainly be nice to know that he has had over two decades of success in defending the accused of our area.  The next thing you might ask is how satisfied are his previous clients?  If that prospective attorney whom you wish to go to battle for you has a PERFECT client satisfaction rating that would be comforting to say the least.

When we say a perfect rating we don’t mean by some organization of which you have never heard.  We are talking about perfection as rated by AVVO (look it up if you don’t know them) and The American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.  When you find out that he used to be a senior prosecutor then you know you have chosen someone who knows both sides of the equation.

If all of that sounds too good to be true - trust me, it isn’t.  The attorney who has represented the accused for over twenty years in Akron, Barberton, Bedford, Canton, Cuyahoga Falls, and throughout Northeast Ohio is Jon Sinn.  Attorney Sinn is your best choice for criminal defense in this area.  The only sin is NOT calling Jon.  If you are facing a criminal charge pick up the phone and call (330) 431-0160.

Getting Pulled Over.

When you live around Akron, Ohio with its busy highway system you are the exception rather than the rule if you have been driving for years and never pulled over by the police.  Going over the speed limit, whether it be 5 miles per hour or 25 miles per hour is still a reason for an officer to “do their job”.  Remember that your traffic tickets constitute a big revenue stream!

Think about the importance of hiring a great traffic attorney BEFORE anything happens.  If you wait until you have been found guilty it may be too late.  The right representation may not only reduce or eliminate the fine, but also may help you keep your license, not get “points” on your driving record, and even may be able to keep your insurance from going up if the judge makes a favorable decision.

Let the best go to bat for you in the courts of Northeastern Ohio.  Whether it be Akron, Barberton, Bedford, Canton, Cuyahoga Falls, Revenna, or anywhere in our immediate area, call Jon Sinn.  Attorney Sinn is your traffic attorney in Northeast Ohio.  The only sin is NOT calling Jon.  If you are facing a traffic charge pick up the phone and call (330) 431-0160.

Being Accused of Criminal Activity.

Sometimes lives are altered forever by just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  It seems a tragedy that a life well lived might be ruined over such a thing.  You were out on the town for a night of fun and frolic.  You certainly did not intend for everything to go south, but it did.  Someone did something to someone else and you were in the middle of it all.

You might be charged with something of which you are completely innocent.  Then there is the gray area where the authorities believe that you exacerbated the situation.  No matter what, an allegation of any size can be blown up to affect your future.  Down the road you could be looking at losing your freedom and basic rights not to mention your ability to seek employment.

Were you or a loved one in the wrong place at the wrong time?  Immediately take a minute and pick up the phone.  Call Attorney Jon Sinn if you reside in the counties of Stark, Portage, and Summit in Northeast Ohio.  Attorney Sinn is an aggressive defender of your rights in a false criminal charge.  The only sin is NOT calling Jon…attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

A DWI is Still a DWI.

Some people are living in an unreal world.  They actually think that if they are arrested for a DWI in the state of Ohio that the severity of the charge will be lessened if they are operating a motorcycle or scooter.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  You could be driving a lawn mower, a tractor, even a golf cart and it is still considered a “motor vehicle”.

Just because the accused does not feel that he or she could have done much damage, serious legal problems may still follow a DWI arrest.  Just using the motorcycle as an example you may be operating the smallest vehicle on the highway.  If you are the one who was deemed to have been driving impaired that much larger car is not at fault…you are.

If you have been accused of operating any sized motor vehicle while under the influence it is essential to call Attorney Jon Sinn.  He serves the counties of Stark, Portage, and Summit in Northeast Ohio.  Attorney Sinn is an aggressive defender of the rights of those accused of DWI in northeast Ohio.  The only sin is NOT calling Jon…attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Someone Who Has Seen Both Sides of Criminal Law.

If you have the luxury of hiring someone who has seen the criminal process from both sides wouldn’t you want someone like that to defend you?  It would be someone who understands the nuances of what the prosecution is thinking and what steps to take to defend you.  It would be comforting to know that you are being represented by someone with that sort of 360-degree vision.

Back in 2001, Akron attorney Jon Sinn made a career-altering decision.  He was a younger lawyer with a bright future at The Summit County Prosecutor’s office.  He had already attained the position of senior prosecutor.  He could have played it safe and carved out a wonderful career playing for the prosecution side.  Instead he founded The Law Offices of Jon Sinn, Esq.

Now, 15 years later Attorney Jon Sinn runs the premier boutique criminal law firm in our area.  He serves the counties of Stark, Portage, and Summit in Northeast Ohio.  All too often good people are caught on the wrong side of an unfortunate situation.  They need aggressive representation.  The only sin is NOT calling Jon…attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Have you heard of OMVI?

Is your head cluttered with acronyms?  There seems to be another one every year for what used to just be known commonly as drunk driving.  If you have heard such abbreviations as OUI, DUI, DWI, OVI, and now OMVI they all stand for pretty much the same thing.  You or someone you care about has been arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle “under the influence”.

From there we have to determine what defines a “motor vehicle” in the state of Ohio.  We also need to know what measuring device was used to determine the level of intoxication.  Your future employment, and in some cases your status as a US citizen, may be on the line.  If you are convicted of an OMVI a criminal record will follow you around for the rest of your life.

What happens BEFORE you reach that horrific conclusion could save “your bacon”!  Contact Akron, Ohio OMVI defense attorney Jon Sinn.  Attorney Jon Sinn will represent you with aggressive defense to give you every opportunity possible to avoid the fate of a future that is forever altered.  Call him today to arrange a meeting at (330) 431-0160.

Be Careful Out there this Weekend.

Happy 4th of July Northeast Ohio.  We have two things to celebrate now…our country’s birthday and the amazing Cavalier championship!  Can you believe it?  Be careful out there.  A lot of people will be on the roadways this weekend and many of them will be driving impaired from all of the celebrating.  We hope that you or a loved one are not among them.

Now, please read carefully.  There are shades of gray when it comes to DUI.  You may be accused of one of the many forms of driving under the influence in the state of Ohio.  That does NOT mean that you are guilty.  And it certainly does not mean that you must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law either.  So don’t let that happen.

Strong representation for DUI or OMVI defense is a phone call away.  Important time is ticking away while you contemplate your next move.  What you do will effect everything that happens for the rest of your life.  Your family, your home, and your job are all at stake here.  So, right now retain the services of Akron Ohio DUI defense attorney Jon Sinn by calling him at (330) 431-0160.

Don’t Leave the Scene of an Accident.

If you are ever involved in a car accident where you are the driver and you hit another vehicle, a fixed object, or heaven forbid an individual do NOT panic and stay there to assist in any way if you are able.  Hit and run in the state of Ohio is not normally based on fault.  The violation occurs when the driver leaves the scene even if they are NOT at fault.

The penalty for leaving the scene of an accident may include a fine and jail time.  What you may not know is that the infraction may be classified as either a felony or a misdemeanor.  So let’s review - it does not have to be your fault even if you think it is at the time.  If you flee you may not remain free.  The severity of the situation may depend on your ability to stay calm and stay put.

Whatever happens in the aftermath, even if you have made a bad decision, make your next decision a good one.  Contact Akron Ohio hit and run accident defense attorney Jon Sinn.  It’s no sin to do the smart thing.  Attorney Jon Sinn will represent you aggressively to see that you secure the best outcome possible.  Call him today to arrange a meeting at (330) 431-0160.

Being Charged with Domestic Violence.

Domestic violence is on the rise…especially with advent of summer.  Hotter temperatures often bring shorter tempers.  In the state of Ohio domestic violence is defined as causing or attempting to cause harm to a family or household member.  Men and women can be perpetrators of this crime and men, women, as well as minors can be victims. These cases can be especially challenging for law enforcement as the police are most often not there when violence occurs.

On the scene when the police arrive the truth has shades of gray and the police don’t get all the right information before accusing someone of domestic violence.  At this moment it is imperative to STAY CALM.  Let the police sort out the situation and do their job even if the initial results are not to your liking.  As the old saying goes in the vernacular, ”don’t make no trouble”.

If you are the one who gets carted off to jail, DO NOT CALL the person you had the disagreement with and definitely don’t discuss the case with anyone.  If you must make a call to someone to arrange for assistance don’t discuss your case at all.  Everything you say is being recorded.  Akron Ohio domestic violence defense attorney Jon Sinn can and will help you fight your case. Call attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Getting Pulled Over While Driving in Ohio.

If you have been behind the wheel for any length of time it has happened to you.  In the rear-view mirror you see the red and blue lights go on and maybe hear that obnoxious siren’s sound.  Maybe your infraction was forgetting to signal, or a brake light is out, or perhaps you have a lead-foot today and were going over the speed limit.

If you get a ticket take it seriously!  So many people just pay the fine and move on.  Be careful - traffic laws in the state of Ohio can become your worst enemy if you have a cavalier attitude about them.  (Does LeBron James have a Cavalier attitude?)  Sorry…just wandering.  Seriously, hire an attorney who takes every Ohio traffic law seriously.

You need a strong and aggressive defense to defend yourself against any moving violation.  Your choice should be Akron traffic defense attorney Jon Sinn.  There may be major consequences to what you might THINK is an innocuous traffic violation that just results in a fine and a slap on the wrist.  Get serious about this today and call Attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

A Criminal Charge May Be a Life-Altering Event.

Under NO circumstances should you ever take a charge of criminal activity lightly in the state of Ohio.  No matter how innocuous you may think the charge happens to be, it will haunt you or a loved one for the rest of your life if not taken seriously and with immediacy.  The system will chew you up quickly.  You may think the charge or charges are trumped up, but the state DOES NOT!

When you are shopping for the right criminal defense attorney to represent you there are several factors to consider.  Look at and ask questions about their track record in defending criminal cases in the Buckeye State.  One special trait to seek out is someone who has represented both sides of a criminal case and brings a unique perspective to your specific case.

If you live in the Akron metro just such a bulldog defender is Jon Sinn.  Attorney Sinn is an experienced and successful defender of your rights in any criminal case.  There is little that he has not experienced in his tenure as an Akron Ohio defense attorney.  Put Jon Sinn’s talents and work ethic on your side by giving him a call today at (330) 431-0160.

Understanding OVI in the State of Ohio.

OVI is Ohio’s term for DUI.  OVI stands for Operating a Vehicle While Impaired.  When you are charged with an OVI it means you have been accused by the police of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

You may also be charged with BAC which means you’re accused of driving with a prohibited concentration of alcohol in your blood.  This is where the dreaded breath test comes in.  A breath testing machine is used to measure the amount of alcohol in your blood.  If you blow above a point .08 you will be charged with BAC.  In addition, the police sometimes collect your actual blood or urine.  BAC is a separate offense than OVI in the state of Ohio.

When you are fighting an OVI or BAC charge you need a lawyer who understands the science behind the tests.  You can count on the 20+ years of experience and specialized training that attorney Jon Sinn brings to the table.  He is a DUI/OVI defense attorney in Akron, who will put his years of experience to work on your case.  Call him for a consultation today at (330) 431-0160.
