DUI is a Very Big Deal.

Of all the criminal arrests in the US it seems like the most prevalent is the DUI stop. It can happen to anyone who has ever taken a drink. You know that getting a DUI does NOT mean you are a drunk, but the law does not care! You need the strongest DUI defense available if you are ever charged with such an offense. In the Akron area that comes from Jon Sinn, a highly experienced DUI defense attorney in Akron.

For this entire decade DUI/OVI lawyer Jon Sinn has vigorously defended those accused of impaired driving. By the way, while virtually every American adult has heard of DUI, some are not familiar with OVI. It is a fancy acronym for Operating a Vehicle Impaired.

Whatever the charge, Akron Defense Attorney Jon Sinn has your back. He used to be a prosecutor last century, so he knows his way around the courtrooms of Northeast Ohio. If you or a loved one has been accused of DUI/OVI please call Jon Sinn as soon as possible. His 24-hour phone number is (330) 431-0160. Visit his website at sinnlaw.com for more information.

OVI vs. DUI.

You may have heard of both acronyms if you live in the Buckeye State.  What is the difference between OVI and DUI in Ohio?  The short answer is nothing.  DUI, of course stands for driving under the influence.  OVI is just a different way of expressing it.  It simply means operating a vehicle while the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Just a reminder… you can be arrested for an OVI if you are found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.  Of course, that is where the Russian Roulette of it all comes into play.  How do you reach that limit?  Are you a five-foot-two 115 pound woman or a six-foot-three 210 pound man?  Alcohol consumption affects us all in a different way.

Here is the bottom line.  If you plead or are found guilty of an OVI or a DUI (a rose by any other name) for the first time, you will be jailed for a minimum of 3 days or up to 6 months and you can be fined up to $1,000!  The only sin you may have committed is not calling Jon Sinn.  He is an Akron Ohio drunk driving defense attorney.  Call him immediately at (330) 431-0160.

Be Careful Out there this Weekend.

Happy 4th of July Northeast Ohio.  We have two things to celebrate now…our country’s birthday and the amazing Cavalier championship!  Can you believe it?  Be careful out there.  A lot of people will be on the roadways this weekend and many of them will be driving impaired from all of the celebrating.  We hope that you or a loved one are not among them.

Now, please read carefully.  There are shades of gray when it comes to DUI.  You may be accused of one of the many forms of driving under the influence in the state of Ohio.  That does NOT mean that you are guilty.  And it certainly does not mean that you must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law either.  So don’t let that happen.

Strong representation for DUI or OMVI defense is a phone call away.  Important time is ticking away while you contemplate your next move.  What you do will effect everything that happens for the rest of your life.  Your family, your home, and your job are all at stake here.  So, right now retain the services of Akron Ohio DUI defense attorney Jon Sinn by calling him at (330) 431-0160.

Understanding OVI in the State of Ohio.

OVI is Ohio’s term for DUI.  OVI stands for Operating a Vehicle While Impaired.  When you are charged with an OVI it means you have been accused by the police of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

You may also be charged with BAC which means you’re accused of driving with a prohibited concentration of alcohol in your blood.  This is where the dreaded breath test comes in.  A breath testing machine is used to measure the amount of alcohol in your blood.  If you blow above a point .08 you will be charged with BAC.  In addition, the police sometimes collect your actual blood or urine.  BAC is a separate offense than OVI in the state of Ohio.

When you are fighting an OVI or BAC charge you need a lawyer who understands the science behind the tests.  You can count on the 20+ years of experience and specialized training that attorney Jon Sinn brings to the table.  He is a DUI/OVI defense attorney in Akron, who will put his years of experience to work on your case.  Call him for a consultation today at (330) 431-0160.
