Should I Hire an Attorney for a DUI Charge?

The answer is always an emphatic YES!  The simplest explanation is this…there is definitely no question about should you get a lawyer for a DUI or not.  An expert DUI attorney is far more likely to save your driver’s license from getting suspended and get a DUI or OVI charge reduced or even dismissed.

The single most common reason why people hesitate getting legal help after a DUI arrest is the fear of not being able to afford an attorney.  This critical mistake loses valuable defense time and most often happens in first offense cases when a driver is unaware of how affordable DUI defense is when weighed against the consequences of representing yourself.

Don’t be a fool as the saying goes and try to fight a DUI charge alone.  Ohio courts are anything but sympathetic to a charge of DUI or OVI.  Take no chances with your future and get strong, affordable representation from attorney Jon Sinn representing Northeast Ohio.  Many times, the only sin you have committed is NOT calling Jon…attorney Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

Who is Best to Negotiate a Plea Bargain on Your Behalf?

It may not be the initial thing on your mind when you hire a criminal attorney, but if and when it comes down to it, have you hired the right person to enter a plea bargain?  A plea bargain is an agreement between a defendant and a prosecutor, in which the defendant agrees to plead guilty or no contest in order to reduce the overall charges.

It’s a simple fact that as criminal courts become ever more crowded, prosecutors and judges alike feel increased pressure to move cases quickly through the system.  When deciding on the right criminal defense attorney in Northeast Ohio, would you like to hire someone with very little experience or someone who has worked on “both sides of the aisle.”

Plea bargaining is a delicate issue, and if you can find someone who has worked for the government at one time and now is one of the staunchest defenders of the accused in Summit and Portage Counties take a closer look.  That man may well be Akron criminal defense attorney Jon Sinn.  Many times the only sin you may have committed is not calling Jon at (330) 431-0160.

High Times Throughout Much of the U.S.

Not so much around here, though when it comes to the use of marijuana in the state of Ohio.  Each state has its own weed laws, of course.  So far there are 11 recreational weed states.  In 2020 a few may be joining them such as New York, New Mexico, Minnesota and Illinois.  47 of the 50 states now allow some form of medical marijuana.

Ohio has decriminalized small amounts of marijuana for medical use for such maladies as –

1.  HIV
2.  ALS
3.  Cancer
4.  Alzheimer’s
5.  Epilepsy
6.  Glaucoma

That is just a small list of the syndromes covered by medical marijuana in The Buckeye State.  If you have been arrested for the illegal use or possession of weed in Ohio, please call Akron criminal defense attorney Jon Sinn immediately.  Sometimes, the only sin you may have committed is NOT calling Jon.  Ohio criminal defense lawyer Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.

How Do You Plea?

A plea bargain is defined as an agreement in a case between the prosecutor and the defendant (as well as his or her attorney) where the prosecutor convinces the defendant to plead guilty to a lesser charge or to the original charge with a recommendation of a lighter sentence.  A court proceeding is then avoided, as well as the possibility of being convicted of a greater charge.

There are basically three types of plea bargains –

1.  Charge bargaining…used when a defendant pleads guilty to a less serious charge.
2.  Count bargaining…used when someone pleads guilty to a fewer number of charges.
3.  Sentence bargaining…a guilty plea with full prior knowledge of the sentence.

Plea bargaining may or may not be right for you or a loved one.  At that critical juncture may we suggest that you seek the advice of Jon Sinn.  Sometimes the only sin you may have committed is not calling Jon in a timely manner.  That’s Akron criminal lawyer Jon Sinn.  He will fight with you aggressively.  Just call (330) 431-0160.

Bombshell Was Much More than just a Movie.

If you saw the movie Bombshell about the Fox News scandal it is chilling and perhaps eye-opening.  These days, sexual harassment often takes on more subtle forms.  Instead of being propositioned for sex a victim might receive suggestive late-night texts or images, unwelcome sexually charged comments, or invitations to meetings that seem to turn into dates.

How is sexual harassment defined in 2020?

1.  Quid Quo Pro harassment.  We have heard that term a lot in recent months.
2.  A hostile work environment in general.
3.  Repeated compliments of an employee’s appearance.
4.  Asking an employee about their sex life.
5.  Making off-color sexual jokes.
6.  Repeated hugging.

These are just some of the ways that an otherwise upstanding individual can be brought up on sexual harassment charges.  If that happens to you this year in the state of Ohio take action to defend yourself vigorously by calling Akron sex crime attorney Jon Sinn.  Many times, the only sin you many have committed is NOT calling Jon.  That’s Jon Sinn at (330) 431-0160.
