Understanding OVI in the State of Ohio.
OVI is Ohio’s term for DUI.
OVI stands for Operating a Vehicle While Impaired. When you are charged with an OVI it means you
have been accused by the police of operating a vehicle while under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
You may also be charged with BAC which means you’re accused
of driving with a prohibited concentration of alcohol in your blood. This is where the dreaded breath test comes
in. A breath testing machine is used to
measure the amount of alcohol in your blood.
If you blow above a point .08 you will be charged with BAC. In addition, the police sometimes collect
your actual blood or urine. BAC is a
separate offense than OVI in the state of Ohio.
When you are fighting an OVI or BAC charge you need a lawyer
who understands the science behind the tests.
You can count on the 20+ years of experience and specialized training
that attorney Jon Sinn brings to the table.
He is a DUI/OVI defense attorney in Akron, who will put his years of
experience to work on your case. Call
him for a consultation today at (330) 431-0160.
